Watermills in the Netherlands
Oostendorper watermolen Haaksbergen

After the more downstream watermill at Vledderbrug was damaged beyond repair, this double waterwheel mill was constructed in 1544. The mill has three waterwheels. On the right hand side the corn flour mill is operated by two wheels, while the oil expelling mill on the other bank of the river is driven by only one waterwheel. In the early 1900s the overshot wheel was removed and the mill fell into disuse. In 1931 the restored and fully equiped oil mill was put back into use. During 1987/88 the mill was restored to its original state.
